"Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river."
The little girl said, "No, Dad. You hold my hand."
"What's the difference?" Asked the puzzled father.
"There's a big difference," replied the little girl.
"If I hold your hand and something happens to me,
chances are that I may let your hand go.
But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens,
you will never let my hand go."

어떤 관계에서건, 신뢰의 핵심은 외형적인 결속이 아닌 마음의 하나됨에 있습니다. 그러니 당신이 사랑하는 그 누군가가 당신의 손을 잡아주기를 기대하고 기다리기보다는 당신이 먼저 그 손을 잡아주세요.
