line-height: 21px; "><span style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; ">불교에서는 이승도 저승도 아닌 중음(中陰)의 세계에 머물고 있는 일체의 영혼까지도 </span></p><p><span style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; ">동시에 평소에는 피부로 와 닿지 않던 그 무상감과 생사에 대한 부처님의 가르침을 효과적으로 깨닫게 할 수 있는 중요한 법회가 되는 것입니다. </span><br style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; "><br style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; "><span style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; ">그러므로 매일 염불과 독경과 축원을 하는 것이며, </span></p><p><span style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; ">다음 생으로 넘어갈 수 있는 칠일마다는 특별한 불공과 시식을 베푸는 것입니다.</span><br style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; "><br><br style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; "><span style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; ">문 : 집에서는 제사를 돌아가신 전날 밤에 모시는데, 왜 사찰에서는 돌아가신 날 낮에 모시는지요?</span><br style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; "><span style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; ">또 집에서의 제사와 절에서의 제사가 많이 다른 이유는 무엇인가요?</span><br style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; "><br style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; "><span style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; ">답 : 여기에는 두 가지의 오해가 있는 것 같습니다.</span><br style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; "><br style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; "><span style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; ">첫째, 제사를 전날 모신다는 것은 잘못 알고 있는 내용입니다. 이것은 동양전통의 시간을 이해하지 못한 것에서 비롯되는데, 옛날에는 돌아가신 날의 가장 앞 시간대인 자시(子時)에 제사를 모신 것입니다. 기일(忌日)의 늦은 저녁에 제사를 모시는 것은 아랫사람으로서 잘 것 다 자고 먹을 것 다 먹은 뒤의 끝 시간에 모시는 것이 되므로 불효막심한 행위가 되는 것이지요. 그러므로 전날에 모든 준비를 해 두고 기일이 시작되는 요즘 시계로 밤 11시가 되는 자시에 제사를 모셨던 것입니다. 만약 전날 초저녁에 제사를 모시게 되면 이것은 남의 제사를 모신 결과가 되므로, 부득이 초저녁에 모실 수밖에 없다면 기일(忌日)의 초저녁이어야 하는 것입니다.</span><br style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; "><br style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; "><span style="font-family: Gulim; font-size: 12px; line-height: 21px; ">둘째, 집에서 모시는 제사(祭祀)는 유교의 의례입니다. 즉 유교에서 가장 중시하는 효의 한 방법으로써, 돌아가신 어른에 대한 추모의 뜻과 조상님들의 보살핌을 바라는 음복(飮福)의 뜻이 담겨 있습니다. 그러므로 유교적 제사인 경우에는 조상님들을 잘 모심으로 인해 후손들의 앞길이 열린다는 사상이 담겨 있습니다. 그렇기 때문에 생전에는 거의 받을 수 없는 진수성찬을 차리는 것이 당연한 것으로 되어 있습니다. 그러나 이것은 공자님이나 맹자님이 가르친 효행과는 상관없이 후대에 생긴 관행입니다.</span><br style="font-family: Gulim;
