vertical-align: top; outline-style: none;"></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table><br></div>신호대기 때마다 자동차 변속기를 중립으로 바꾸면 한 달에 기름값을 2만 원 가까이 절약할 수 있는 것으로 확인됐습니다.<br><br>교통안전공단 실험결과 신호대기 또는 도로 정체일 때 1분 동안 중형 휘발유 승용차의 변속기를 주행에서 중립으로 변경하면 연료 소모량이 19.8㏄에서 15㏄로 4.8㏄나 줄어듭니다.<br><br>서울 시내 운전자의 하루 평균 신호대기 횟수가 63회라는 점에서 휘발유 가격을 ℓ당 2천 원으로 가정하면 한 달 기름값을 1만 8천 원 아낄 수 있습니다.<br><br>기어 주행에서는 엔진과 구동축의 연결로 부하가 걸리는 바람에 연료 소모가 증가하지만, 중립에서는 부하가 걸리지 않아 연료가 덜 소모된다고 공단은 설명했습니다.<br><br>다만, 기어를 중립으로 바꿔 대기하다가 다시 출발할 때 기어를 주행으로 변경하기 전에 급하게 가속하면 변속기 내구성에 나쁜 영향을 미칠 수 있기 때문에 출발시점을 예상해 미리 주행으로 바꾼 뒤 출발하는 게 좋습니다.<br><br>또 공단의 실험결과 타이어 공기압이 10% 감소할 때마다 연비가 1.5% 떨어졌고 운전자 한 명만 탑승할 때보다 3명이 탑승하면 4%, 5명이 탑승하면 8% 각각 연비가 떨어지는 것으로 조사됐습니다.<br><br>따라서 트렁크의 불필요한 짐을 줄여 30∼35㎏ 줄이면 한 달에 기름값을 2천250원 줄일 수 있다고 공단은 설명했습니다. </div></p>
