얼큰하게 취기가 오르자 학창시절 얘기며 87년 6월 항쟁 등 다양한 얘기가 나왔다.</font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3"> </font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3">최근 경기대학교에 추진하고 있는 조사특위 얘기도 나왔다. 자연스럽게 학원민주화가 화두가 됐다. 그래서 남도의 전투조직 얘기가 나왔다. 바로 녹두대 얘기였다. 지난 시절 그 행동조직에 몸을 담고 있었던 한 사람으로서 진한 전율 같은 게 느껴졌다.</font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3"> </font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3">사람들은 녹두대를 전설의 조직이라고 부르기도 하고 요새 대학생들이면 거의 신출귀몰한 활빈당쯤으로 여길지도 모른다. 그 만큼 세월이 흘렀고 나름대로 주옥 같은 얘기들이 흘러 흐르다 보니 부풀려 졌을 수도 있다.</font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3"> </font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3">녹두대는 학원자주화 투쟁과 통일 투쟁의 선봉이라 불렸던 행동조직이다. 전남대의 오월대와 비교하면 몇 달 앞서 만들어진 조직체였다. 이 두 조직은 남대협의 전투조직이자 선의의 경쟁자이기도 했다. 당시 가투에 나가면 이 두 조직은 서로 전투에서 밀리지 않기 위한 안간힘을 쓰기도 했다.</font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3"> </font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3">녹두대의 명성은 아마도 당시 대학을 다니던 사람들이면 모두가 기억하고 있을 정도였다. 사실 그 이면에 숨어 있는 얘기는 더 기가막힌 게 많았다. 녹두대는 원래 자위조직으로 만들어 졌다. 그리고 원래 핵심 조직체는 '민석이'라는 조직이었다.</font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3"> </font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3">전위조직체였던 민석이는 나중에 88년 1월 선거무효화 투쟁을 끝으로 해산했고 공식조직인 녹두대로 들어갔다. 그리고 녹두대를 본격적인 행동조직으로 이끌어 냈다. 녹두대의 숨은 얘기 가운데 몇가지가 있다.</font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3"> </font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3">원래 자위조직으로 출발한 녹두대는 먼저 학원내에서 어슬렁거리던 폭력배와 주위 고등학교 폭력써클, 조폭 등은 학교에서 몰아내는 것을 주요 계획으로 잡았다. 그래서 그 일을 우선적으로 했다. 간혹 폭력배들이 학교 앞에서 술을 마시고 폭력을 휘두르는 날이면 어김없이 녹두대가 출동했다.</font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3"> </font></div> <div><font face="맑은 고딕" size="3">그리고 한 마디로 끝냈다. 그 뒤 다시는 학교 근처에 얼씬 거릴 수 없을 정도로 만들었다. 조직폭력배와 충돌 한 적도 많았다.
