<div>요즘 양식과 관련된 조사를 하고 있다. 여러가지 생선을 자세하게 많이 보고 다니는데, 종류가 많아서 다 외우지 못하고 앞으로도 골라가면서 먹을 생각은 없다. 아마 종을 구분하면서 먹는건 쌀과 콩 밖에 없을 것 같다.</div> <div>그나마 갑각류를 형태적으로 구분되는게 적은 듯해서 한번 정리해본다. 갑각류는 지난번에 새우에 대해서 한번 정리하기는 했는데, 오늘은 게(crab) 종류 중에 인기 있는 머드 크랩을 살펴본다.</div> <div><br></div> <div>머드크랩이라 불리는 이유는 게가 갯벌에 살고 있기 때문이라고 한다. 특히 맹그로브숲에서 살기 때문에 맹그로브 크랩이라고도 불린다. 열대, 아열대, 따뜻한 동아프리카에서 일본의 남쪽 끝자락, 호주 북동쪽에서 서식한다. 뿐만 아니라 파푸아뉴기니아, 피지, 서사모아, 통가 같은 태평양 섬국가에서도 서식하고 있다. 인기가 많기 때문에 시장에서도 좋은 가격에 거래되고 있다. </div> <div><br></div> <div>Scylla serrata, S. olivacea, S. tranquebarica and S. paramamosain 이 네 종류의 종이 머드크랩에 해당된다. 중국과 베트남에서 가장 양식이 잘되는 종은 S. paramamosain 으로 특히 중요하다. 아마 우리가 먹게되는 대부분의 양식산 머드크랩이 여기에 해당될 것 같다.</div> <div> </div> <div><br></div> <div><br></div> <div><br></div> <div>(참고자료 <a target="_blank" href="http://www.shrimpnews.com/FreeReportsFolder/CrabFolder/MudCrabFarmingInAsia.html">http://www.shrimpnews.com/FreeReportsFolder/CrabFolder/MudCrabFarmingInAsia.html</a>)</div> <div><br></div> <div>양식은 중국에서 가장 많이하고 베트남에서도 많이 하고 있다. 소규모 양식업자들은 치어를 바닷가에서 잡아서 케이지에 넣고 기르고, 대형 양식업자들은 부화장에서 직접 부화시킨 후 양식을 한다.</div> <div>양식에 대해 좀 더 자세하게 언급하고 싶은데, 기본적인 기술은 특이한 점이 없고, 최신 기술은 아직 문헌으로 나온게 없어서 넘어간다. </div> <div><br></div> <div><br></div> <div> <div><img src="http://thimg.todayhumor.co.kr/upfile/201505/1431568957QOQh3ItPb3DQymGeSUwxPBM56GfQ5v.jpg" width="350" height="432" alt="1.jpg" style="border:none;"></div> <div><img src="http://thimg.todayhumor.co.kr/upfile/201505/1431568958aBBWelBvqLWY59AnVbOw3O6zyQK1it.jpg" width="350" height="441" alt="2.jpg" style="border:none;"></div></div> <div><br></div> <div>생육환은 아래와 같다. It is about one millimetre long, has undeveloped limbs, and floats with the plankton.</div> <div>Megalopa – A zoea grows by ‘moulting’ (shedding its shell) four times over 12 to 15 days. During the fifth moult, it transforms into a ‘megalopa’, which has functional claws. After a week or so, it moves inshore and settles to the seabed. After a few days, it moults into a stage one juvenile crab.</div> <div>Juvenile crab – A miniature version of the adult, it is about 4 mm wide. About a month after hatching, when 10 – 20 mm wide, it moves to an estuary and settles in a sheltered area.</div> <div>Young adult – The crab reaches sexual maturity at 18 to 24 months.</div> <div>Mating – In the warmer months, mature females release a ‘pheromone’ (chemical attractant) into the water to attract males. Once paired, the male climbs on top of the female, clasps her with his hind legs, picks her up and carries her around for up to four days. He releases her when she begins to moult, and after she has shed her shell, he turns her upside down to mate. He deposits a capsule of sperm inside her reproductive opening, where it’s stored for months until her developing ‘ova’ (eggs) are ready to be fertilised. After mating, the male flips the female upright and holds her under him for a few more days while her shell hardens.</div> <div>Spawning and hatching - The female migrates offshore to spawn. The fertilised eggs are released in batches of two to five million. After digging a hole in the sand or mud with her abdominal flap, the female releases her eggs into it. Using her swimming legs, she gathers the eggs up to carry them under her abdomen. The eggs hatch in two to four weeks.
