언제나 한 자리에서 굳건히 기도하는 한 사내가 있었다.

몇 년이 지나도, 비바람이 몰아쳐도 그는 하루도 빠짐없이 신에게 기도했다.

그 모습은 참으로 사제보다도 사제같았고 누구보다도 경건했다.

그렇게 기도한지 20년이 지났다.

여전히 기도하는 그의 모습을 보며 신은 감동했다.

신은 기도하는 그의 앞에 나타났다..

"당신이 원하는 것은 무엇입니까?"

신은 그에게 물었다.

다만 그는 아무런 대답을 하지 않았다.

신이 그에게 다가서자 그는 신에게 달려들었다.

일그러진 얼굴로 그는 칼을 빼들었다.

"당신이 없었다면 좋았겠습니다."
