margin: 0px; padding: 0px; font-size: 16px;">김모(31·여)씨는 최근 내시경 검사를 받으러 서울의 한 개인병원에 들렀다 불쾌한 경험을 했다. 앞사람이 사용한 지 5분밖에 되지 않은 내시경으로 검진을 받았다는 사실을 알게 된 것이다. 규정상 내시경을 제대로 세척·소독하기 위해서는 30분이 걸린다. 최씨는 “병원에 물어보니 내시경이 두 개라고 들었는데 5~10분 간격으로 사람들이 줄을 지어 검사를 받았다”며 “질병에 감염된 것이 아닌지 걱정된다”고 말했다.<br><br>　지난달 23일 취재진이 방문한 서울 지역 건강검진 지정 의료기관 세 곳 중 두 곳에서도 비위생적인 내시경 관리 실태를 확인할 수 있었다. 서대문구 A병원과 성북구 B의원 등 두 곳은 내시경 장비가 별도의 보관함 없이 벽에 걸린 채로 방치돼 있었다. 끝부분만 소독액으로 추정되는 액체가 든 통에 담겨 있었다.<br><br>　대형 건강검진센터도 건강검진 예약이 몰리는 연말엔 위내시경을 제대로 세척·소독하지 못한 채 사용하고 있다. 지난 5일 오전 9시 취재진이 방문한 서울 C건강검진센터. 20㎡ 남짓한 소화기센터 앞 대기실은 위내시경을 받으려는 30여 명의 사람들로 북적였다. 검진 간격은 10분 남짓이었다. 기관이 보유한 내시경 장비는 20여 대. 검진 시간은 일반적으로 5분, 소독·세척 시간 30분을 감안하면 검진 간격은 35분 이상 돼야 한다. 내시경 소독을 제대로 할 수 없을 정도로 많은 인원을 받고 있는 것이다. 센터 관계자는 “내시경 장비마다 소독기를 붙여두고 검진 인원도 적절히 배정해 간격을 두고 있다”고 말했다.<br><br>　하지만 의료기기업체의 이야기는 달랐다. 서울 서초구의 한 의료기기업체 김모 이사는 “건강검진 의료기관들이 비용을 줄이기 위해 내시경 세척·소독을 철저히 하지 않는다”고 말했다. 이 업체가 2주 전 한 서울 지역 건강검진 의료기관으로부터 사들인 내시경 기기 내부에선 단백질이 굳어 생긴 누런 침전물이 발견됐다. 김 이사는 “제대로 된 세척·소독을 하지 않고 거의 방치한 수준”이라고 말했다. 질병관리본부 김은경 주무관은 “세척이 제대로 되지 않으면 침전물에 세균이 번식해 B·C형 간염이나 에이즈 바이러스에 노출될 위험성이 매우 높다”고 말했다.<br><br>　민주통합당 김용익 의원이 건강보험공단에서 받은 자료에 따르면 올해 위내시경 상태와 관련해 계도·시정 권고를 받은 병원은 전국 24곳이었다. 내시경 관리 대장이나 지침을 비치하지 않은 곳을 포함하면 60곳이 넘었다. 위내시경 세척기가 아예 없어 손으로 세척하거나 1회용 마우스피스를 재사용해 적발된 곳도 있었다. 보건복지부 고시에 따르면 내시경은 모든 형태의 미생물을 파괴시키는 ‘높은 수준’의 소독을 해야 한다. 실제로 2008년 미국 라스베이거스의 한 병원에선 비위생적인 내시경 검사로 인해 100여 명이 C형 간염에 감염되기도 했다.<br><br>　건강검진서비스업체 H사 관계자는 “건강검진 대금으로 40만~50만원은 받아야 하는데 과당경쟁으로 현재 20만원대에 가격이 형성돼 있다”며 “박리다매 전략을 펴다 보니 위생 문제는 뒷전으로 밀린다”고 털어놓았다. 하지만 정부의 관리·감독은 허술하다. 건강보험공단은 지자체와 함께 건강검진 전문기관 을 점검하지만 비위생적 현장을 적발하더라도 권고 차원에 머무르고 있다.<br></div><div class="article_content" id="article_content" style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34);
