발음표기법인 dai 로 하자고함 그땐 그냥 건설회사여서 영문표기법이 중요하지 않다고 생각해서 hyundai 가 됨 이후 수십년뒤 현대 자동차가 수출하게 되고 외국인들이 hyundai 를 현대로 읽지않자 바꾸려함 하지만 이름이 지은게 왕회장 동생이라 못건들이고 넘어감 그이후 현대에서 "현대"라고 발음하는 여러 cf를 만들어 외국에서 방송했지만 아무도 "현대"라고 발음하지 않음 아무리 cf를 방영해도 영어표기법을 바꾸지 않는이상 외국인들이 현대를 제대로 발음하기는 불가능
