Once upon a time there lived a king. 
The king had a beautiful daughter, 
the princess. 
아주아주 오래전에, 아름다운 딸을 가진 
왕이 살고 있었습니다.

But there was a problem. 
Everything the princess touched would melt. 
그런데 그 공주에게는 심각한 문제가 있었는데,
그 공주가 만지는 무엇이든 녹아 버리는 것이었습니다.

No matter what; 
metal, 
wood, 
stone, 
anything she touched would melt. 
무엇이든간에...
금속, 나무, 돌.. 무엇이든 공주가 만지면
녹아버렸습니다.


Because of this, men were afraid of her. 
Nobody would dare marry her. 
이 심각한 문제때문에, 모든 남자들은 그녀를
두려워 해서, 누구도 그녀와 결혼하기를 
꺼려했습니다.


The king despaired. 
What could he do to help his daughter? 
왕은 깊은 절망에 빠졌습니다.
공주의 문제를 고치기 위해 무엇을 할수 있단말인가..


He consulted his wizards and magicians. 
왕은 그의 마법사와 마술사들을 불러보았습니다.

One wizard told the king, 
"If your daughter touches one thing 
that does not melt in her hands, 
she will be cured." 

한 마법사가 왕에게 말했습니다.
"만약 공주의 손에 녹지 않는 것을 
한번이라도 공주가 만질수 있다면,
그녀의 이런 병은 완쾌될 것입니다."
 

The king was overjoyed and came up with a plan. 
왕은 기쁨에 넘쳐 공주의 병을 고치기 위한 계획을 
생각해 냈습니다.
 
 
 
 
The next day, 
he held a competition. 
다음날, 왕은 대회를 개최했습니다.

Any man that could bring his daughter an 
object that would not melt would marry her 
and inherit the king's wealth. 
누구든 공주의 손안에서 녹지 않는 물건을
가지고 오는 자에게 공주를 결혼시키고 
자신의 재산을 전부 주겠다고 했습니다.



Three young princes took up the challenge. 
 세명의 왕자가 이 대회에 도전했습니다.
 
 
 
 
 
 
The first prince brought a sword of the finest steel. 
 첫번째 왕자는 견고한 철로 만든 검을 가져왔습니다.
 
 
  
 
 
 
But alas, 
once the princess touched it, 
it melted. 
The prince went away sadly. 
그러나 역시, 공주가 만지자 마자, 그 검은 녹아버렸고.
왕자는 슬픔에 빠져 사라졌습니다.
 
 
 
 
 
......................................... 
 
 
 
 
The second prince brought diamonds. 
두번째 왕자는.. 다이아 몬드를 가져왔습니다.
 
 

 
 
 
He thought diamonds are the hardest substance 
in the world and would not melt. 
그는 다이아몬드가 세상에서 가장 단단한 물질이며,
절대 녹지 않을거라 생각했었습니다.


But alas, 
once the princess touched them, 
they melted. 
그러나.. 역시 공주가 만지자 마자,
다이아몬드도 녹아버렸습니다.

He too was sent away disappointed. 
둘재 왕자 역시 슬픔에 빠져 사라졌습니다. 
 
 
 
 
......................................... 
 

 
 
The third prince approached. 
He told the princess, 
세째 왕자는 나타나서 공주에게 말했습니다.

"Put your hand in my pocket and feel what 
is in there." 
"공주님의 손을 제 주머니에 넣어 무엇이 
느껴지는지 보십시요"

The princess did as he was told, 
though she turned red. 
 공주는 그렇게 했고, 순간 공주의 얼굴은
빨갛게 되었습니다.
 
 
 
 
 
She felt something hard. 
She held it in her hand. 
그녀는 무엇인가 단단한 것을 느꼈고
그녀는 그것을 손으로 쥐었습니다.
 
 
 
 
 
 
And it did not melt!!! 
 
그리고 그것은.. 녹지 않았습니다!
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The king was overjoyed. 
왕은 기쁨에 횝싸였습니다.
Everybody in the kingdom was overjoyed. 
왕국의 모든이들이 기쁨에 흽싸였습니다.
And the third prince married the princess 
and they both lived happily ever after. 
세째 공주는 왕자와 결혼해서,
둘은영원히 행복히 살았습니다.
